Every firm on this site comes from Google's results for its trade and town.
Where the firms come from
The site covers 17 trades across 56 towns. Each trade and town page lists up to 10 firms taken from Google's results for that trade in that town.
How listings are ranked
Firms are ranked on their Google rating, their online presence and other factors.
What each listing shows
Each listing shows the firm's Google rating and review count where it has one, a short summary of its work, its phone number where we have it, and a link to its own website.
Prices
The price ranges on trade and town pages are our own estimates of what the work typically costs locally. The Resourcessection has cost guides that go into more detail.
Hiring a firm
You deal with the firm directly. Get a written contract, and for anything over about £10,000 use a JCT Home Owner contract.
